If a your Installment Agreement request is rejected by the Franchise Tax Board (FTB), you have the option to seek an independent administrative review. To initiate this process, you must submit a written request within 30 days of receiving the rejection letter. The request should be mailed to the following address:

By following this procedure, you can appeal the decision of the FTB regarding their Installment Agreement request and have your case reviewed independently.

If the you fails to maintain compliance with the conditions of the Installment Agreement, the FTB will initiate termination proceedings. A notice will be sent to the taxpayer 30 days prior to termination, providing detailed information about the reasons for termination and instructions regarding the your rights. This notification from the FTB aims to keep the taxpayer informed and provide them with an opportunity to address the issues leading to non-compliance before the Installment Agreement is terminated.
